A Love Story

I just love a good love story. Actually, the other day I found myself catching a couple of romantic comedies on the Hallmark channel. Even though, most of them are quite predictable and at times even sappy, I still love a good love story. At the end of my day, I started meditating on the greatest love story of my life, the love of Christ.

I remember that day in 2002, when I stood folding clothes in the silence of my home. Suddenly, I heard His voice. So clearly, it was if He was sitting right in front of me. He was calling me to Him. He was calling me to walk away from sin, from compromise, from a life of death. In His voice, He was offering me a choice to receive all that He had ordained me to be and to have. He was offering me the greatest love of my life. At that moment, with tears running down my cheeks, in the privacy of my bedroom, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. From that moment on I began to know what a true love story was.

When I think of our love story, I reflect on

His Sacrifice
"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" John 3:16 (NIV)

His Mercy
"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life." Romans 5:8-10 (NIV)

His Grace
“22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3: 22-24 (NIV)

His Abundance
“20Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3: 20-21 (NIV)

His Faithfulness
“22 Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3: 22-23 (NIV)


His love
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8: 38-39 (NIV)

His Plan
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1: 5 (NIV)

Oh, yes, I am thankful for my daily love story. Each moment of every day, my love story with Christ continues to amaze me in every single way. His love for me knows no boundaries. The beauty of this is His love story isn’t one created for me alone, but is one that is available for any who choose to accept Him as Lord and Savior. If you haven’t started your love story with Him, then I encourage you to begin. It will be the greatest story of your life.

There is nothing greater than the love of Jesus Christ. There is nothing greater than the peace, joy and love HE has given me in my life. His love is truly like no other. Beautiful writing my friend. Blessings

What in the world could possibly surpass the love of our loving saviour!!
I've said it to my congregation anad in several meetings around my country that Christianity is one long and sweet love affair.
